Maui Photo Festival: Learn And Shoot In Paradise.

Maui Photo Festival: Learn And Shoot In Paradise. Save $100

Maui is an amazingly beautiful place. I (Jim T.) spend about two months a year there, particularly during the winter when I'm photographing the humpback whales. The Maui Photo Festival started last year, and it's really a great event. There are soooo many beautiful areas to take a camera that it's really one of the most ideal places for a photography conference. I'll be there myself, so please come join us.

Here's more info:
The second Maui Photo Festival & Workshops, set for August 25-29, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Maui, will once again bring world-class digital photographers and instruction to one of the word's most photogenic places: Maui. With content from novice to professional — attendees will learn from classroom sessions, location shoots, and hands-on demo sessions led by pro photographers. Optional excursions include doors-off helicopter shoots or underwater photo tours to Turtle Town. In the evenings we'll gather in our outdoor theater on Kaanapali Beach to view the work of our presenting pros and see images shot that day. Space is limited. The cost is $595 but you can save $100 by entering in this code when you register: ANARCHY

For more information and online registration go to http://www.mauiphotofestival.com

Traveling tips:

From California you can usually get a economy airfare for about $400. Many airlines fly direct from LAX, and Hawaiian, Alaska, and United fly direct from SFO and Oakland. Use Tripadvisor.com or Yapta.com to track airfares and get notified when the price drops.

VRBO.com (Vacation Rental By Owner) is a good site to book condos through. The condos are usually considerably less than a comparable hotel, and in most cases are as nice or nicer (make sure you look at the photos and read the description).
