Our second annual survey, The Photographer’s Outlook on 2014, reveals insights from over 5,700 photographers worldwide on their top business goals and challenges for 2014, plus how they plan to market their work and spend money this year. The survey also took the pulse of professional photographers and photo enthusiasts (who we define as those making less than 50% of their income from photography) to dive more deeply into how they approach their photography and how they are making a business of it.

Who are the most inspirational photographers?

We asked professionals and enthusiasts to share the names of photographers they look to for inspiration. Not surprisingly, there is a key set of photographers who transcend both groups (and are known among just about everyone who wields a camera on the regular) but also those whose work — or educational focus — appeals to pros or enthusiasts uniquely. The photographers who were mentioned most frequently are listed below in alphabetical order.
