Adobe To Announce CS4 On September 23

Adobe To Announce CS4 On September 23 And Reveal Release Date

Adobe will announce the 4th version of the Creative Suite, CS4, on September 23rd. This is not the actual release date but rather the official unveiling of it by Adobe.

You can register to view a special web broadcast that will take place on the 23rd.

And this is from AppleInsider.com: "People familiar with the ongoing development of Creative Suite 4.0 say a good chunk of Adobe's resources for the project were devoted to bringing two applications acquired from Macromedia -- Dreamweaver and Fireworks -- up to spec with its existing flagship offerings. However, the company is expected to tout a handful of significant enhancements to both Photoshop and Flash. For example, the company is expected to announce that Photoshop CS4 (codenamed Stonehenge) will be capable of pulling in 3D objects as wireframes. The new version of Photoshop will also feature a Flash services panel, natural canvas rotation, content aware image resizing and deliver 64-bit support for Windows users." There will be lots of speculation about features in CS4 now, so until September 23rd, we can all keep dreaming our wishes will be answered. To find out if they have been, make sure to register for the special web broadcast.

You may remember that Adobe was a part of the Photoshop World Conference keynote. During the keynote John Loiacona (Adobe’s Senior VP of the Creative Solutions Business Unit), gave a quick demonstration of some of the new features of CS4. The first feature he demonstrated was a non-destructive (highly-enhanced) dodge and burn tool. The second (and final) feature shown by “Johny L” was the “True Edge” function which will be incorporated into the Refine Edge feature of Photoshop. True Edge basically helps to enhance the edges of your selection, keeping them true to the actual edge of the object you’re selecting and ensuring a more defined line between subject and background.
