Valentine’s Day DIY

A lovely Valentines DIY from Penelope & Pip

A lovely Valentines DIY from Penelope & Pip

This Valentine’s Day DIY is a guest post by Rachael Smith, creator of the art prints and other lovely boutique paper goods at Penelope and Pip.

She is an illustrator whose drawings combine quirky characters and playful colour palettes to create a beautiful world of make-believe. Bold bears, whimsical whales and top hat wearing moustache merchants are just some of the figures you will find in her work.

I had some beautiful bunches of flowers delivered from friends and family this week, and while enjoying their beauty, a little idea popped into my head for a cute Valentine’s DIY.

So often we end up throwing out the floral arrangements we receive once they start to wither and I thought it would be great to find a way to make them last forever.

This project was so easy to make and the results are a beautiful art print you can treasure long after the flowers blooms have faded.

I chose to use the word love as I was feeling very loved this week, but you could use a word like “create” or “escape” which would make pretty pictures for any day of the year too.

Let’s get started with materials:
