This was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, just the way we love it! It is a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks, pealing paint and empty guard towers. Known for its grand architecture and strict discipline, this was the world's first true "penitentiary," a prison designed to inspire penitence or true regret in the hearts of convicts. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells once held many of America's most notorious criminals, including bank robber "Slick Willie" Sutton and Al Capone. To photographers, this location presents incredibly graphic, creative and exciting photo opportunities. Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up soon!Cost is $150Entry fees, lunch, loaner lenses, on-site instruction, discount rebate certificates for lenses and bus are all included.

Equipment: You may bring a tripod or monopod. Box lunches and transportation will be provided. Free loaner Tamron lenses will also be available for use. Nancy Ori, owner of New Jersey Media Center, LLC in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, is respected internationally as an industrial photographer and video producer for over 30 years. She has been involved with several organizations and in 1995, she established the New Jersey Photography Forum, which is a group of professional and semi-professional photographers who meet regularly to discuss their work, as well as exhibit within the state. Since inception, the Forum has grown under Nancy's direction to become the largest group of exhibiting fine art photographers in the state and has now expanded to include the new Digital Arts Group of the New Jersey Photography Forum.
