Carl Heilman photo workshops

A taste of springtime came and went over the weekend - but that means there is still some great winter photography left here in the Adirondacks! Still 2 feet of snow here and it's going down below zero again tonight...

We had a real good weekend of winter workshops about 10 days ago now, but they got us thinking of how best to change our offerings so the classes would best fit individual needs. As our workshops have gone from an emphasis on film to digital, the amount of discussion has lengthened considerably. Digital photography has opened up so many options - and questions.
Instead of informal discussion we now have a more formal outline to follow so we can cover the most important issues that people are interested in. There is also time enough for Q & A, and we have added a short critique session into our day long workshop.

The result is the workshop has become a lot different than the original intent. So, we have decided to rename our one day photo workshop to a Comprehensive One Day Photo Workshop. This now includes about 3 hours or so of instruction, discussion, and critique. The rest of the 8 hour day is spent with a camera.

For those who are comfortable with a camera, we are now offering Photo Tours which are 8 - 10 hour days in the field. During the day I will be available for questions and will spend individual time with participants, but there will be minimal group discussion.

We are also offering Advanced One Day Workshops that will address specific topics, such as a Wide Angle / Panoramic / Depth of Field Workshops, or Creative Techniques Workshops, etc.
I still need to revise the original descriptions for the day long workshops, and have numerous pages to add for the new listings. It will take some time, but I'll try to keep chipping away at it here!

Since I have revised the whole format, I have also put up a page for photos taken by workshop particpants. I have a small start with a few images that have been sent over time, but would really enjoy being able to add more of the great photos I've seen taken in the workshops over the years. No need to write a quote - but if you have some thoughts you would like to add, please pass them along as well. If you add website information for any personal or commercial photo galleries you might have, I'd be happy to link to them as well from the photo acknowledgement. Images only need to be 300 pixels on the longest side - or we can size them down and put a copyright on for you. Looking forward to adding some great images to the site!!!
