Essential Guide to Photographing the Geminid Meteor Shower

Essential Guide to Photographing the Geminid Meteor Shower

Some quick and dirty settings for your camera (assuming you have a capable full frame camera):
These are just suggestions for a starting point, play around with different settings and see what works for you.
14mm 2.8 lens: ISO 3200 @ f2.8, 30 seconds (this is what I used for the Perseids meteor shower)
24mm 2.8 lens: ISO 5000 @ f2.8, 20 seconds
24mm 1.4 lens: ISO 1250 @ f1.4, 20 seconds
The shutter speed is determined by taking 500 divided by your focal length, this will avoid moving stars, any longer will cause star trails.
