Perspective by Guy Tal

This article reminds me of a recent motivation by another photographer Rod Evans "Photography is more than a two dimensional media to me, if done well you can capture a beautiful part of a persons soul." . I was at a PPSNYS photo conference this past weekend, and he had us do an exercise. He had us spend 15 seconds looking all around the room noticing and memorizing everything brown. Then he had us close our eyes and asked us to recall everything green that we saw in the room. His point, if you only pay attention to the brown "doodoo" then that is all that you will notice, not the wonderful green all around. Even in this present economy he said, if we fester on the 8% unemployment rather than the 92% employment then that is all we will see and it will bring us down. This article by Guy Tal sends a similar message.

Stack the Odds in your Favor

On any day one may be discouraged by any number of things. Worries about the future, known or unknown may chase away sleep and comfort and peace of mind. Time may be consumed by earning a living, raising a family, or wasted away in wait. But, the bare essentials of life are there to behold. Always.
