Most towns have great neon—at diners, taverns, and tattoo parlors for instance. Flickr helps you find other hotspots, but here are six of the best:

COLUMBUS, OH: Check out photo ops at columbusneon.blogspot.com.

FREMONT STREET, LAS VEGAS: Vintage Vegas at its best and brightest. (And tour The Neon Museum in daytime to see a boneyard of antiques.)

OCEAN DRIVE, MIAMI BEACH: A stretch of arto deco buildings with fantastic antique neon signs.

TIMES SQUARE, NEW YORK: The epicenter of things bright and glittery.

ROUTE 66 IN TUCUMCARI, NM: This drive takes you past lots of old Western-themed motel signs.

WILDWOOD, NJ: A seaside town that prides itself on its doo-wop heritage, ’50s motel signs included.
