This renowned naturalist and researcher has authored more than two dozen books on natural history, including the Pulitzer Prize-nominated ‘Living on the Wind’, ‘Return to Wild America: A Yearlong Search for the Continent's Natural Soul’ and his newest book, ‘Of a Feather: A Brief History of American Birding’.
Weidensaul bands hawks each fall and directs a major effort to study the movements of northern saw-whet owls, one of the smallest and least-understood raptors in North America. Most recently, he has joined a continental effort to understand the rapid evolution, by several species of western hummingbirds, of a new migratory route and wintering range in the East.
