Description: This workshop is based in Bar Harbor, Maine, just minutes from some of the best photo locations in Acadia National Park. We will spend approximately 2 hours per day inside learning how to get the best images possible from your cameras. The rest of our time will be spent exploring nearby locales and photographing Acadia’s iconic coastline, as well as fall foliage in both forested and mountain landscapes. Specific shooting locations for each day will be determined the night before based on weather forecasts and foliage conditions. Though we won’t be doing any strenuous hiking, you may be expected to walk up to two miles with up to 200 feet of elevation gain. The workshop schedule will be flexible so that we can be out shooting in the best light possible for the subject matter. Jerry will draw on his twenty years of experience shooting in Acadia National Park and his experience in writing his three books about the park when determining the best photo locations.
Lectures will be held at the Atlantic Oceanside Resort in Bar Harbor, Maine.
Lodging: Participants are not required to stay at the Atlantic Oceanside, but they are offering group participants the special rate or $199/night. To receive this rate, you must call the hotel (800-336-2463) to make your reservation and tell them you are part of the EcoPhotography workshop. Numerous camping and lodging options are available in the area. For other lodging suggestions, e-mail Jerry at nature@ecophotography.com.
Meals: Lunches on Saturday and Sunday are included with the workshop fee and will be provided either as bag lunches or in local restaurants, depending on our shooting schedule for the day. Breakfasts and dinners are not included in the workshop fee, but participants will have the opportunity to eat these meals with the group or own their own.
Transportation: Participants are required to provide their own transportation. A six passenger van will be available to the group for local transportation during the workshop, but since this workshop has a maximum of ten participants, you may be asked to drive your own vehicle during parts of the workshop.
Payment: A $300.00 deposit is required at registration. Six weeks before the workshop, you will be sent an invoice for the remainder of the workshop fee, which is due one month prior to the start of the workshop.
Cancellations: If you cancel prior to August 11, 2013, your full deposit will be refunded. If you cancel between August 12, 2013 and September 12, 2013, you will be refunded 50% of your deposit. No refunds are made for cancellations made after September 12, 2013. EcoPhotography reserves the right to cancel the workshop if less than four people register by August 11, 2013.
