I opened the pdf and expected lots of pretty pictures, I did not expect the walk through the thought process, the composition, the compositions leading up to the final image, the details, the post processing and and everything it too to get to the final image, Unlike many ebooks this book shows you his shooting and his post-production, he holds nothing back!
The "what" and the "why" of post processing are explained and a before and after is shown. Camera settings and lighting diagrams are included too. He talks about challenges he encountered with the photograph, and how and why he chose the composition. He shows examples of images that did not work as well, and how he went about trying to capture what was in his head.
New camera buffs will definitely learn alot about composition, lighting, post-processing and camera settings, but experienced photographers will appreciate the level of detail coupled with the simplicity of the explanation and examples of each image.

Rabari - Encounters With the Nomadic Tribe lets you look over Mitchell's shoulder and get to know his entire shooting and post-production process for 10 of his images (all of which made it into magazines, onto magazine covers or won prizes). This is as close to giving away the playbook as any photographer gets!
