Zion Narrows Workshop 2010
June 28th - June 30th, $1050
Summer is a powerful season in Zion National Park and its world famous Narrows is its prime attraction. The Virgin River is normally a pristine, aquamarine blue as it weaves and carves its way through canyon walls glowing with color. Brilliant shades of gold, red, orange, pink, and green hues mysteriously decorate its sides. This is landscape photography and adventure at is finest. As a veteran photographer of the Narrows, I’ll lead you on two full days of examining one of the most dynamic landscapes in the country. Each year massive floods during the winter and spring run off periods rearrange the flow of the landscape. The scenery, including rocks, logs, and pools, is constantly changing. This is also a time when light is at its best. I’ll have you in the right place at the right time to take home some stunning images of the area. We will visit Wall Street and Orderville Canyon and journey as far as Big Springs deep within the heart of the canyon. We’ll examine compositions both up and down river. From waterfalls to springs and rapids and pools, I’ll show you techniques on how to capture water flow in its most aesthetic state. This workshop is designed to help you take your photography to the next level and for you to bring home images stunning enough to hang on your wall. It will be a journey you will never forget! Price includes: Personalized field instruction in a small group setting 3 nights hotel accommodations All permits and entrance fees 2 image critiques (1 during and 1 post trip) Snacks and Lunches Farewell Dinner
