Emerging Photographer of the Year Award - over the next year, we're going to identify 24 photographers who have outstanding work and offer them the exposure that they can get through our Photofocus website. Then, we're going to select one to give a special award to. (You can still enter the contest. Read the rules linked to above.) LOTS of prizes!!!
The 19th finalist is Chris Martin, a travel photographer from Alberta, Canada. His gallery"our world: people of myanmar" is very well thought out and the images are publication-quality. His use of lines and iteration in his composition is what caught my attention. Add to that a definite sense of style, great use of color and images with lots of pop and you have what it takes to be a finalist in our EPY competition.
