Event Type: Photography Learn the inside tips on shooting outdoors from National Geographic photographer, Michael Melford, who has published numerous stories and books for National Geographic, National Geographic Traveler, LIFE magazine, as well as many other publications. Best known for his location photography, Michael escapes the confines of genre; his versatile, vibrant images celebrate all aspects of life, be it wildlife, nature or people. Michael will be making a special visit to the B&H Event Space to share his experience and knowledge about travel and landscape photography. He will start off with a slideshow displaying the extraordinary places he’s traveled to, including Baja California, Alaska, Antarctica, Arctic Norway, and the Galapagos Islands, using his own work as an example of how to advance your photographic skills. Next, Michael will teach you how to see the landscape around you in a different way that will allow you to capture unique qualities of the environment you’re in. He will also show you how to achieve professional-looking shots by demonstrating how to get the most out of the gear you have, as well as what equipment you’ll need for field shooting. Whether you’re a novice or a professional photographer, shoot digital or film, use an SLR or a point-and-shoot camera, you will walk away from Michael’s seminar with a new bag tricks you can start using immediately. As Michael frequently admits to his audiences, photography has been his ticket to wonderful places and experiences. Attending this workshop may be yours!
