Choosing an LCD Monitor for Digital Imaging

Choosing an LCD Monitor for Digital Imaging

I came across this great article on Jerry Monkman's Blog. He has a little warning on the top that "Warning: this gets pretty geeky at times!"

but for people researching before purchasing a new monitor the article is very good.

For those of you that do not know Jerry Monkman he is an excellent photographer and has some great books http://www.jerryandmarcymonkman.com/books1.htm
out about photographing in the NE area. He also does workshops. For a schedule of Jerry’s upcoming photo workshops visit http://www.jerryandmarcymonkman.com/. I always thought that it was way cool that they named their first child Acadia

"Fifteen years ago we started our photo business, EcoPhotography, as a way to use our images to further wilderness conservation in New England. Six years ago this became a full-time pursuit, and since then we have helped to protect more than 200,000 acres of New England wildlands with our photographs. The goal of this blog is to let you see what we are currently working on as well as giving you an inside look at the triumphs and setbacks that come with running a freelance photography business. "

"EcoPhotography features the distinctive adventure, nature, and travel photography of Jerry and Marcy Monkman. Known for their conservation work in New England's wild places, the Monkmans have spent the last fifteen years artfully documenting the mountains, forests, and coastlines that define the region. In 2002, they were awarded a communications award by the Northern Forest Alliance in recognition of their "vision and excellence in chronicling the story of the Northern Forest through photography." Staying true to their mission of "promoting ecological awareness through creative photography," their images have contributed to raising awareness and funds to protect a diverse collection of wild places, from a small Connecticut trout stream not far from New York City, to New Hampshire's Great Bay, to Maine's Debsconeag Lakes in the Northern Forest.
They were featured in the February, 2007 issue of Photo District News as the New Hampshire entry for the article, "50 States, 50 Photographers."

The Monkmans are the authors of six books, including "Wild Acadia" which was named a top photo book of 2007 by Shutterbug Magazine. They are currently working on a conservation book about the Connecticut River watershed that is underwritten by the Trust for Public Land, which will be published in 2009. Their work has appeared in publications worldwide and their client list includes National Geographic Adventure, Audubon, Men's Journal, The Washington Post, Outdoor Photographer, L.L. Bean, Princess Cruises, and The Nature Conservancy. Jerry and Marcy live in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with their seven year-old daughter Acadia, and their four year-old son Quinn."
